Lindsey Davis Named 2011 Up and Coming Attorney

Zelle Hofmann is pleased to announce that Lindsey Davis has been named a 2011 Up and Coming Attorney by Minnesota Lawyer magazine.

Lindsey represents clients in all aspects of litigation in federal and state courts as well as alternative dispute resolution proceedings. Although Lindsey's experience covers a broad spectrum of commercial disputes, she has focused in the areas of insurance coverage, reinsurance, antitrust and securities disputes.

Lindsey has represented insurers in a wide range of coverage matters, including first-party property coverage disputes in a variety of contexts, and has dealt extensively with issues relating to policy interpretation, as well as the application of a wide variety of coverage exclusions and policy endorsements.  Lindsey was a member of a large team of attorneys handling coverage and reinsurance disputes arising from 9/11-related claims.

Lindsey represents defendants in securities litigation and is currently defending a major financial institution in on-going securities matters. She was heavily involved in the only two indirect purchaser antitrust lawsuits against Microsoft Corporation that went to trial, including a lawsuit on behalf of Minnesota businesses and consumers which settled in 2004 after seven weeks of trial for $182 million.  Lindsey was on the trial team in another class action against Microsoft in Des Moines, Iowa, which settled in February 2007 after three months of trial for $180 million.  She was also involved in a third consumer class action against Microsoft in Wisconsin, which settled in 2007 for $224 million.

Outside the firm, Lindsey is extremely active in pro bono and professional activities. Since 2003, Lindsey’s pro bono practice has included the representation of children in Minnesota’s foster care system (in conjunction with the Children’s Law Center of Minnesota). She is currently an active member of the Minnesota State Bar Association where she serves as a member of the Women in the Legal Profession Committee and the Diversity Survey Update Committee. Lindsey also serves on the Insurance Coverage Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association. She is also an active member of Minnesota Women Lawyers and the Hennepin County Bar Association.

The Up & Coming Attorney award honors attorneys who have distinguished themselves during their first 10 years of practice.
