Jane E. Warring
Serving insurance industry clients, Jane focuses her practice on first-party coverage disputes, business interruption claims, bad faith claims, and subrogation matters under a variety of insurance policy types including all risk property, builder's risk, cyber risk, event cancellation, and energy outage policies. Jane is an experienced litigator with active cases in state and federal courts from coast to coast. She prides herself on diligent and tailored representation of her clients, and believes the key to a successful defense is in the details.
Jane serves on the firm’s e-Discovery team, managing cases involving heavy document discovery with Zelle’s Litigation Technology Group. She leads the firms Cyber Risk and Losses group and is a frequent speaker on cyber business interruption loss and other topics.

Obtained favorable settlement in dispute under event cancellation policy in D.C. state court.
Obtained a favorable settlement for a market of nine insurance companies in a multi-million dollar dispute with an apartment owner alleging hurricane damage and bad faith in North Carolina state court.
Obtained a favorable settlement in a landmark dispute between insurers and a Las Vegas casino under a cyber breach policy.
Obtained summary judgment and sanctions award in West Virginia federal court dismissing a multi-million-dollar business interruption loss and bad faith claim by an international metals manufacturing operation.
Obtained a favorable settlement in a direct defense case representing a welding inspection company on behalf of a market of U.S. and London insurers in Tennessee federal court.
Regularly provides advice to insurers with respect to coverage for data protection costs, extra expenses, and business interruption damages under cyber risk policies.
Regularly provides coverage advice on claims under Builder’s Risk policies involving multimillion dollar construction projects.
Regularly provides opinions to insurers on various coverage issues including but not limited to faulty workmanship and settlement exclusions, ensuing loss exceptions, change of temperature exclusions, code upgrade coverage, and the application of sublimits.
