Steven Badger Named to IAALS Working Group to Develop Initial Discovery Protocols for COVID-19 Insurance Litigation
May 27, 2020Steven Badger, a partner in the Dallas office of Zelle, is part of a working group that is developing initial discovery protocols to help federal courts more effectively manage the anticipated wave of business interruption insurance litigation stemming from COVID-19-related closures and losses.
The group is led by IAALS, the Institute for the Advancement of the American Legal System. In response to the rapid increase in court cases involving business interruption insurance property damage claims arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, the group will develop pattern discovery protocols specific to these cases, in an effort to reduce conflict and cost to both businesses and insurers alike in moving these matters more efficiently through the litigation process.
