Steven Badger and Jason Reeves to Present LMA Academy Master Class on Hail Damage Insurance Claims
March 14, 2014On March 20, 2014, Steven Badger, of Zelle Hofmann’s Dallas office, and Jason Reeves, of the firm’s London office, will present an LMA Academy Weather Series program titled, “What the Hail™ is Going On?”. The presentation will cover coverage, adjustment, appraisal, and litigation issues arising out of the area of hail damage insurance claims.
Issues covered will include:
- what constitutes ‘physical loss or damage’?
- hail damage versus other causes of damage
- testing procedures to identify damage
- establishing costs
- unauthorized practice of public adjusting
- dealing with contractors
- avoiding common traps, tricks and pitfalls
- identification of fraud
- recommended policy wording changes
The goal of the LMA Academy is to raise the profile of education in the Lloyd's market. This is delivered through a series of modular programs, workshops, master classes and alumni events that support learning and career development.
