This series will cover managing insurance claims in the wake of catastrophes. All webinars will be offered free of charge and 1.0 of CE credit will be offered to attendees. CAT Loss - Commercial Property Coverage Issues

This course will explore commercial property insurance coverage issues related to the widespread effects of hurricanes. The discussion will focus on several catastrophic property damage scenarios and the impact such catastrophes can have on the insured’s business. The presenters will analyze several different policy language variations, and coverage questions that may arise including issues related to the measurement of business interruption losses, contingent business interruption, period of indemnity, extended period of indemnity and mitigation of time element losses. Climate Change Exposure for Insurers

This course is intended to give adjusters and insurance professionals a thorough knowledge and understanding of the current climate change lawsuits and emerging risks associated with climate change. This will include insurance and reinsurance issues, first and third-party exposures, U.S. and foreign litigation, claims control clauses, reference to how the issue may be approached based on current settled case law involving MTBE and asbestos. Estimating the Value of the Appraisal Process in Property Claims

Current Fraud and Other Improper Schemes in CAT Claims

This course is intended to give adjusters and insurance professionals a thorough knowledge and understanding of the current fraud and other improper schemes arising in catastrophe claims. This will include fabricated damage, inflated estimates, fake replacement cost coverage invoices, multiple submissions for same damage, contractors engaged in the unauthorized practice of public adjusting, appraisal schemes, and other emerging schemes.
