Zelle Attorneys to Present at Property Insurance Law Committee Conference
May 10, 2019Several Zelle attorneys will present at the 2019 Property Insurance Law Committee Spring Conference. The conference will be held May 8-10, 2019 in Austin, Texas.
Lindsey Davis and Elizabeth Kniffen, partners in the Minneapolis office of Zelle, will co-present on the topic “Cryptocurrency and Property Insurance” with Monique Ferraro, Munich RE/ Hartford Steam Boiler, and Joseph Lavoie, Sulloway & Hollis P.L.L.C. This session will address the growing significance of cryptocurrency to the world of property insurance. The panel will analyze the insurability of cryptocurrency losses, loss measurement issues, and how courts are grappling with cryptocurrencies in the context of property insurance coverage disputes.
Jonathan MacBride, a partner in the firm’s Philadelphia office, will co-present on the topic “The Difference A Year Makes: Review Of Property Insurance Law (2018).” He will be joined by Adina Bergstrom of Sauro & Bergstrom. They will discuss recent developments in the world of property insurance and also provide updates on cases from around the country relevant to policyholder and insurer attorneys. Their discussion will place particular emphasis on the impact of these new case law developments for cyber loss claims.
Jennifer Gibbs, a partner in Zelle’s Dallas office, and Bennett Moss, an associate in that office, will co-present on the topic “Insuretech: The Next Frontier for Property Insurance.” They will explore “Insuretech”—that is, the use of technology innovations to increase cost savings and improve efficiency for insurers. This presentation will focus on the various uses of Insuretech and how its use will impact the insurance market.
