McElroy to Serve as a Panelist During MReBA's First Annual Symposium
July 9, 2009Zelle Hofmann Partner, Wm. Gerald McElroy, Jr., will serve as a panelist during the Massachusetts Reinsurance Bar Association's (MReBA) First Annual Symposium, titled Join the Revolution!!! A Fresh Perspective On Reinsurance Disputes and Arbitrations. Jerry is also the symposium chairperson. The symposium will be held October 1, 2009 at the Harvard Club in Back Bay Boston.
The symposium will include a mock arbitration panel on a hypothetical reinsurance dispute and panel discussions on the following topics: (1) the follow the fortunes/settlements doctrine - its evolving contours and practical application; (2) problems with reinsurance arbitrations and how to address them; (3) proposals to increase the efficiency of the reinsurance dispute resolution process; and (4) emerging insurance risks and arbitrating reinsurance disputes under Massachusetts law.
