Angel Lu
Angel is an associate in Zelle's London office, where her practice primarily focuses on representing global insurance companies in insurance coverage and defence matters in connection with property, energy, construction and product liability claims as well as pursuing subrogated recovery actions.
As a native Mandarin speaker, Angel shows a particular interest in matters concerning global insurance companies in the APAC market. Angel also speaks fluent German and has experience dealing with instructions with a German language element.
Prior to joining Zelle, Angel spent several years with a London-based international law firm. There, she represented numerous London Market insurer clients in all stages of litigation on a broad range of matters relating to loss or damage arising from fire, escape of water, builder's risk issues, marine cargo and port risks.

Successfully represented a London Market insurer at the Court of Appeal in obtaining an anti-suit injunction against its Canadian insured.
Defended multiple insurers in connection with a multi-million pound coverage dispute arising from a Delay in Start-Up policy.
Represented multiple insurers in an arbitration concerning high value coverage disputes under a Construction All Risks policy.
Defended a leading construction project manager in connection with a multi-million pound claim alleging breach of duty.
Defended a main contractor in connection with a high profile claim arising from a ceiling collapse at a West End Theatre.
Defended a carrier in a multi-party proceeding in Germany relating to loss of cargo in transit.
