J. Bret Morace
Jonathon Bret Morace is an associate in Zelle’s Ft. Lauderdale office, where he represents admitted and surplus lines insurance carriers. His practice is devoted to insurance coverage disputes and bad faith litigation. He has experience litigating matters in both state and federal courts across the nation.
Prior to joining Zelle, Bret was a senior associate at a large, national defense firm where he advised and represented insurers in first-party disputes throughout the State of Florida. Bret began his legal career at the Palm Beach County Public Defender’s Office. There, he defended indigent clients facing charges in county court, delinquency court, and circuit court. He also advocated for his clients in pretrial motions and trials. Bret brings this courtroom experience to every matter he handles.
Bret is a graduate of the University of Texas School of Law, where he served on staff of the Texas International Law Journal and graduated with honors. While in law school, Bret was a law clerk at a civil litigation firm whose practice ranged from breach of contract disputes to patent infringement. Additionally, Bret interned at the Capital Area Private Defender Service where he worked with the organization’s Forensic Project which reviewed cases for potential post-conviction litigation due to the use of faulty forensic science.
