Alexander W. Cogbill
Alexander represents many of the world’s largest insurance companies, focusing his practice on complex commercial and (re)insurance litigation. His first- and third-party experience includes all stages of pre-suit investigations through post-trial motions and appeals. Alexander defends businesses and municipalities in commercial disputes regarding contracts, defamation, cyber liability, disability, construction, real estate, premises liability, professional liability, and other issues. Alexander has also been designated a Rising Star by Thomson Reuters New York Super Lawyers in 2018-2023, an honor given to only 2.5% of lawyers who have practiced less than ten years.
Alexander was formerly the Alvin H. Glick International Law Scholar, a clerk for the Honorable Jane S. Scholl in Connecticut, and a biochemist.
