Heather Rankie to Present at ABA Antitrust Law Section Spring Meeting
March 31, 2023Heather Rankie, a partner in Zelle's Oakland office, will serve as a speaker at the 71st Annual American Bar Association Antitrust Law Section Spring Meeting in Washington, DC. The session, "How I Learned to Love Pretrial Filings," will take place on March 31, and is presented by the Civil Practice & Procedure and Trial Practice Committees.
Many trials are won even before voir dire. What evidence will be presented to the factfinder and how the factfinder will be instructed to consider the evidence can be outcome determinative. Attendees of the session will learn practical tips to master the art of pretrial filing, what to do and not to do when drafting complaints, motions in limine, deposition designations and proposed jury instructions.
Heather will be joined on the panel by Jesse Beringer (Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe), Laura C. Fellows (Paul LLP) and Renita Khanduja (Wilmer Hale). The session will be moderated by Christopher Young (Joseph Saveri Law Firm).
