Bennett A. Moss
Bennett is a senior associate in Zelle’s Dallas office. His practice focuses on insurance coverage and commercial business litigation, where he represents some of the world’s largest insurance companies through every stage of litigation. Bennett has a unique understanding of the obstacles insurers face in first-party claims, and has a keen ability of identifying the heart of his clients’ issues before aggressively solving them. He approaches his clients’ problems with efficiency and passion, and employs his endless energy and creativity to find litigation and business solutions that fit his clients’ goals. Bennett stays up to date on the newest insurance trends and obtains results for both well-established and up-and-coming carriers.
Representative Matters
Property Insurance
Obtained $750,000 class action summary judgment against fraudulent roofing company who defrauded over 100 North Texas homeowners.
Obtained summary judgment in federal court on first-party property damage and extra-expense claims relating to alleged hail damage to EPDM warehouse roofs and ammonia cooling system.
Defended several insurers under the largest “shared and layered” insurance program in the world in both state and tribal courts.
Defended insurers new to the Texas market in complex commercial hail and wind property damage claims.
Creatively negotiated favorable pre-litigation results in commercial and residential fire loss claims.
Represented Fortune 500 insurance carrier in federal litigation relating to alleged wind damage to EPDM commercial roofs against big-box retailer in Kansas and Nebraska.
